Garden of the Senses

In 1997, the St. Franziskus Heiligenbronn Foundation created a "Garden of the Senses" in connection with the school's break yard for the blind and visually impaired, which extends between the monastery wall and the church and is freely accessible.

The elements of the Garden of the Senses

Layers of rock from the Swabian stratified landscape, various ground coverings, scent bench and scent islands in the raised bed, sound island, recycling wall, wooden wall, hedge labyrinth, fruit trees, berry garden, sandpit, fountain, play and rest area. A variety of native plants results in a seasonally changing palette of fragrances. Grasses and ferns, aromatic and medicinal herbs, berries and perennials, deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees and other plants can be found.
