Description
The varied castle trail leads through charming forests to beautiful vantage points and two castle ruins.
From the town hall square through the Park of Times, the former villa park of Erhard Junghans, the view over the town already shows the castle ruins of Hohenschramberg, which towers over the town on the Schlossberg. Built in 1457, it is one of the last castle buildings in Germany and at the same time one of the best preserved ruins. Continue in the direction of Charlottenhöhe and Dreiburgenblick to Schlangenbühl with an impressive view of Tischnecker Berg. Then downhill towards the Falkensteiner Chapel with one of the most beautiful groups of mourning in southern Germany. The Berneckstrand is the perfect place to refresh tired feet. After the rest, up to the ruins of Falkenstein Castle, whose origins date back to 1150. Then downhill to the Lauterbach waterfalls and on shady paths back up to Hohenschramberg, past the impressive Felsenmeer. Back in the valley town, you pass the architecturally and artistically highly interesting St. Maria Church and return to the starting point.
